Federal Health Reform: How it Affects North Carolina

The enactment of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (health reform) will have a major effect on many parts of North Carolina's healthcare landscape. The North Carolina Institute of Medicine has launched this page as a resource for understanding the implications of health reform, particularly for North Carolina.

This issue of the North Carolina Medical Journal is dedicated to explaining the recently passed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act in more detail and describing how it will affect individuals, providers, employers, the insurance industry, communities, and the state of North Carolina.

Spreadsheet of the Various Funding Opportunities Coming Out of National Health Reform (UPDATED August 20, 2010)
The spreadsheet has many details about national health reform funds including the type of funding (e.g. prevention, improving quality), the federal authority in charge of distributing the funds, the years funding is available, whether the funds have been authorized or appropriated, and the type of entity eligible to receive funds.
